The Factor 55 Flat Splicer is a pioneering splice-on folding winch rope shackle mount designed for synthetic ropes. Constructed from durable 6061 aluminum with a powdercoat finish, this innovative device measures just 1.75 inches thick, enabling it to fold flat against winch fairleads and minimize vehicle frontal protrusion. Its compact design includes integrated EPDM rubber pads that protect the rope and shackle from abrasion and impact while allowing the rope to exit centrally and route at a 90-degree angle along the inner radius for efficient winch operation. This design ensures your winch rope remains protected from UV damage and external forces, while maintaining your vehicle’s approach angle for optimal use. Suitable for synthetic ropes between 3/8 and 1/2 inch in diameter, the Flat Splicer supports common shackle sizes, including 3/4 inch shackles and larger 7/8 inch shackles, with full working load limits based on the rope used. It requires splice techniques such as locking Brummel or Long Bury Splices, which demand proper synthetic rope splicing knowledge.
